Now it's official: After much back and forth, Thailand will now introduce the much-discussed tourist tax from mid-2025.
As asianews network reports, the new tourist tax will apply to all travelers. Air passengers will have to pay a fee of 300 Thai baht (around 8 euros) upon arrival, while travelers arriving via land or sea will have to pay 150 baht (around 4 euros).
The revenue from the tax should be used to improve tourism services and infrastructure. In addition, the tax includes health and accident insurance that covers travelers for stays of up to 30 days.
