Airlines have taken unavoidable measures due to current developments in the Middle East. The State Department has issued travel warnings for large parts of the region.
After the Israeli army invaded Lebanon, Iran fired rockets at Israel on October 1. In view of the increasing escalation in the Middle East, the Austrian Foreign Ministry, among others, has issued travel warnings or partial travel warnings for several countries and regions. Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Palestine and Yemen are affected.
Airlines such as the Lufthansa Group, which also includes Austrian Airlines, have decided to avoid Iranian, Iraqi, Israeli and Jordanian airspace for the time being. There will be no flights to Israel until October 31st.
