New Zealand triples entry fee

Travel to New Zealand becomes more expensive: Entry fee for tourists tripled

Starting in October, New Zealand will increase its entry fee from 35 New Zealand dollars to 100 dollars. The government recently announced this.

From October 1, 2024, the entry fee, the so-called "International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy", will be tripled. From this date, 100 NZD (equivalent to just under 56 euros) must be paid for entry. The amount must be paid in advance online when applying for the entry permit ( NZeTA ).

This move is justified by the high costs that tourism generates. However, there is also criticism, as some experts believe that New Zealand is doing itself a disservice and that fewer tourists could travel to the country as a result.

New Zealand is a big dream for many travelers as it offers a unique combination of breathtaking landscapes and a wide range of adventure opportunities. From the fjords on the South Island to the beautiful beaches on the North Island - the country fascinates many travelers.
