Flight connection Linz - Frankfurt is back

Austrian Airlines resumes Linz – Frankfurt route

After a long break, Austrian Airlines is returning to Linz Airport and will take over the Linz-Frankfurt route, which was previously abandoned by Lufthansa / AirDolomiti, with the start of the winter flight schedule from October 27th. This resumption of the connection is an important step for Linz Airport, which is strengthening its international connections.

An ATR 72-600 aircraft is used on this route. This turboprop aircraft has 72 seats. The aircraft are operated by Austrian Airlines partner “Braathens Regional Airlines”. The Swedish airline is known for its high reliability and quality and perfectly complements the Austrian Airlines network.

The flights between Linz and Frankfurt will initially operate three times a day. This dense flight schedule offers business travelers and tourists flexible and convenient travel options. The flights are timed to provide optimal connections to international and intercontinental connections in Frankfurt.

The resumption of the route is not only a benefit for Linz Airport, but also for the entire Upper Austria region. Mayor Klaus Luger, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Flughafen Linz GesmbH, welcomes Austrian Airlines' decision to add Linz-Frankfurt. "The connection to Frankfurt is extremely positive news for our passengers, and especially for our economy. It is also of great importance for Linz Airport as a company. Linz-Frankfurt has played a very important role in the airport's scheduled flight segment for years. It is therefore extremely gratifying that Austrian Airlines has chosen Linz and is taking over this important connection."
